However, as the designer reaches the define stage of the process (second stage), they need to distil their ideas and concepts in order to present one or two design ideas to their client for review and selection prior to development. This mirrors a process of discovery (first stage) where a designer needs to find out as much as possible about the nature of a problem and the many possible ways in which it could be solved.
